Josh Wood
Medicine (UG): Phase 1c Wellbeing Representative
Hey, I’m Josh and I’m running to be your Welfare rep for 1c!
I’ve been defeated by the word limit so I can’t give you any introductory waffle (pain 😔) but have a read of my manifesto points!! They’re great I promise!!
If elected, my plans for 1c welfare include:
- Creating a 1c welfare support form, where you guys can submit any concerns or questions at any time throughout the year. This could be anonymously or not, so the welfare team can get in touch with advice directly.
- Holding optional bi-termly drop in sessions, once in the middle of each placement block and once at the end. These will let you guys raise any issues you’re having with your placements, and let you give us feedback about how (or if) this changed after these issues were raised.
- Updating you all about the outcomes of any concerns which are raised to close the feedback loop, especially after Student-Staff Liaison Groups (SSLGs) have met so that you KNOW your voices have been heard
- Establishing lines of communication with clinical teaching fellows to make sure that we can relay information back to the relevant people when you guys have any feedback for us, and that we can advocate for you when you’re facing difficulties at placement (ever had a firm lead leave you on delivered??)
- Sending out surveys to look at the overall experience you guys have during placement, and using that to highlight any particular issues to faculty.
