Rebekah Poole
Hi! I’m Rebekah and I would love to represent our cohort throughout the following year as the year one wellbeing representative. Throughout high school, I was able to observe firsthand the significance of comfortable communication between student and staff – no more so than within the scope of wellbeing. Prioritising student wellbeing is the key to us all getting the most out of first year – creating a great foundation for us to build on as we progress through our journeys at Imperial. I’m always approachable and will be more than willing to speak to anyone needing advice or encouragement.
Initial conversations with different people in the year group have influenced me to form the following key focuses:
- Creating an open channel of communication between student and the department where everyone can feel comfortable speaking about any difficulties.
- Communication from those with experience (students or staff) on how best to balance academics with clubs/societies and social lives.
- Making sure the year group remains an inclusive place where all feel accepted.
PS. If I win, I’ll try my hardest to convince the department that it’s beneficial for our wellbeing if they let us all pass BCM without sitting the exams.
