Mert Topak
Hi everyone! I’m running for wellbeing representative again this year, and I’d like to share something important: if there’s one thing I truly value, it’s listening. Supporting people is something I care about even more than engineering. Last year, I worked with the academic representatives to ensure our concerns were addressed after one of the toughest computational exams, which also presented some unexpected difficulties. That experience taught me the power of speaking up and ensuring our voices are heard.
While I can’t promise to make the term easier (since that’s out of my control), I do promise to support you in every way I can. Whether you’re feeling the pressure of exams, experiencing something unfair in the system, or dealing with personal issues, I’m here to listen and help. I also understand that life outside of university can be challenging, so if you’re struggling with anything—mental health or otherwise—please feel free to reach out, and we’ll work through it together.
While I can’t change the school system, I’ll do my best to ensure our concerns are taken seriously and create an environment where we all feel supported. I’ll strive to create an environment where we all feel supported, and I’ll push to make things easier whenever possible. We’re all in this together, and I’ll be here to stand by you, listen to you, and help make this year a little more manageable.
If you’d like me to be your well-being representative, don’t forget to vote for me! :)
