hakim Adan
Hi, I'm Hakim. I enjoy life, and I have no enemies.
The reason I want to stand for this position is that, in our department, we can often overlook our mental and emotional health. Given the significant effect they have on our overall well-being, this can be detrimental to our day-to-day performance. University life can be overwhelming. Balancing coursework, exams, social life, societies, and personal challenges can take a toll on our well-being. As your Wellbeing Representative, I will advocate for resources, programs, and initiatives that foster a positive atmosphere for everyone from all walks of life. A healthy mind and body are the foundations of academic success and personal growth.
I also wish to gather your feedback on aspects of the course that negatively impact your mental health and relay that information during meetings in hopes that certain changes can occur. I understand it is intimidating to reach out for help, but I aim to make that process more approachable so that more of us know we have a place to go when in need of advice or comfort. I believe we're all capable of positive change, and it's okay if we need some help with that from time to time.
