Harvey Fung
Hi, I’m Harvey Fung, a math and biology enthusiast with a passion for bioengineering, particularly genetic engineering and CRISPR-based therapies. I look forward to collaborating with everyone in our cohort, not just through projects and assignments, but by sharing our passion for bioengineering.
Studying at a world-renowned university is thrilling yet challenging. My goal is to make this experience both exciting and manageable. It’s crucial for your voices to be heard, so I will implement a system where ideas and suggestions for academic improvements can be submitted everyday from 9 to 5. These will be compiled and presented at student-staff meetings, making it easier to share ideas without the need constantly emailing professors.
I recognize that some modules are more challenging than others. To address this, I plan to organize additional study sessions, providing more opportunities to engage with professors and enhance our understanding. Additionally, I aim to strengthen connections with molecular bioengineering seniors and create an online Q&A platform. This will offer us freshers enhanced academic support and expand our social network within the community. This platform can also be used to share study resources and tips, making studying more efficient.
Outside academics, I enjoy bouldering, windsurfing, chess, and cubing. I hope to support everyone on their academic journey, making it more manageable and enjoyable. Ultimately, what matters most is to enjoy our degree and share our passion with the friends we make along the way.
