Luke Dee
Hi everyone, I’m Luke Dee and I’m a third year BMB student running for the position of your Council Representative!
Having been here for a few years now I have a good grasp on the inner workings of the university through keeping up to date with the college bye-laws and other regulations, equipping me with the understanding I need to make the most of this position. After hearing countless complaints from my peers, I decided I would like to play a role in improving several aspects of how the faculty is running. However, without a seat on the council I can’t make your voices heard! My main campaign focus will be on student satisfaction and properly representing the student body in our faculty, although there are a few more areas I feel quite strongly about:
- Improving access to and awareness of wellbeing support for all students, particularly in exam seasons.
- More transparency about ongoing internal processes (Reynolds repairs…)
- Bridging the gap between BMB and the main faculty to provide better representation for us.
- Supporting efforts for better inclusivity in our faculty events to provide safe, comfortable social environments for everyone.
- Pushing for sustainable reform to help the faculty become more environmentally conscious, especially surrounding lab practices.
Don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any questions!
Thanks so much for reading :)
