For the past year I have been representing undergraduate students to the Student Staff Committee of the Physics Department as Academic Representative. Working together with other reps, societies and the RCSU I noticed how important it is to have an organised and approachable person voicing the views of all students whether they are directly involved or not.
It is my goal to make what is just known as "the Union" to many students more accessible. This will include an open ear for suggestions of all kind from students of the Departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences that I will bring forward to make it clear that we are not just members of the Union but we are the Union which should be reflected in all decisions to decrease bureaucracy and put the focus back on empowering CSPs, promoting events and enhancing student experience. I believe that my strong connections to the RCSU and all five natural science departmental societies enable me to perform this role as best as possible.
