21st century, an era that glorifies the brave, the rebel. I always wanted to be the cool kid. After doing Bachelors in Chemistry and living in the same country all my life, I applied to Imperial. Finally after coming here, I am enjoying my cool kid moment. It made me realise that it takes a lot of courage to go to a different country, leaving behind the comfort of being at home. As an international student, living on my own for the first time makes me more understanding of the problems that students might face while at Imperial.
Being an MSc Advanced Materials Science and Engineering student provided me with alot of opportunities including to stand for Postgraduate Taught AWO. I am standing for this role because I want to:
1. Make new friends and help them in solving any problems they are facing. It will be easier for students to talk to someone their age i.e.AWO.
2. Provide mentorship for students. I believe every individual have a drive for something, and they can cross limits for it (In my case its food, I can do anything for good food). I want to help students find their hunger and drive and how to use it to study well and achieve maximum of their potential.
3. Promote journaling to achieve clarity. It is a crucial quality to have, especially for students.
4. Work on having icebreaking sessions among students.
5. Advocate and sharing my budgeting tips/ideas for being cost friendly.
This sums up my manifesto:)
