Ecem Arpaci
Hi everyone, I’m Ecem, and I’m really eager to be one of your Academic Representatives this year! While getting to know you through lectures and late-night library sessions, I’m continuously inspired by your dedication and passions in and outside of Biochemistry. I’m Turkish-American but grew up in the Netherlands, and I can bring a multicultural perspective to our representative network. I gained valuable leadership experience through running Opera Society last year, and I'm eager to bring my skills to this role. I aim to provide:
๐ฌ Regular, open communication with all representatives. Due to our many modules, teamwork is fundamental to this position. I aim to collate feedback from module representatives for sharing with departmental representatives and staff, ensuring your concerns are raised promptly. I encourage feedback on what can be improved and aim to promote transparency in the leadership team.
๐งช Increased collaboration with the Biochemical Society. As a Student Representative of the Society, I will frequently share internship, funding, and training opportunities through our communication channels to help everyone explore their interests within life sciences and prepare for life after university.
๐ซ Availability for support. I’m always available to talk about personal or academic concerns, or just for some coffee and a chat. I will always listen and highlight relevant departmental and college resources to keep building a supportive community.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to help make your voices heard in our final year at Imperial!
