Srisneha Mettu
Medicine (UG): Phase 1c Academic Representative
Hi, I'm Srisneha Mettu, and I’m running for Third-Year Academic Rep.
You might remember my “major contribution” (not my words!) as the first author of PVB notes last year—Pathological Valiant Blasphemy™ which might gain your confidence in me!
But if you’d like to know more about why I’m running and my past experiences (or if you didn’t love my notes), keep reading!
Why I’m Running:
- I’m passionate about academia and plan to integrate medical education into my future career.
- I want to collaborate with faculty to improve our curriculum, ensuring it’s accessible to all students, no matter their learning style.
- I aim to bridge the gap between lecturer capabilities and student needs, from timely slide uploads on Insendi to clarifying learning outcomes so we know exactly what’s required.
- I’m excited to survey our diverse student body and represent your views—even though I’m bad at stats, I love a challenge!
My Experience:
- I’ve been a tutor for Muslim Medics, the Surgical Society, and have taught at NGOs and high schools, gaining insight into crafting engaging lessons.
- I’ve held several committee roles, including Secretary of the Infectious Disease Society, SFP Lead of SORA, Social Secretary, Innovation Coordinator, and President of FoMSF. I’ve organized events, led teams, and honed my planning and leadership skills.
- Fun fact: I scored in the top 1% of my country for A-Levels (I just think that’s a cool stat!).
