Hridal Gujrati
Hey fellow Materials students!
My name is Hridal, and I’m excited to be running for the position of Year 1 Academic Representative! Drawing on my experience as a school council leader, I’ve developed strong leadership skills and the ability to advocate for my peers. In that role, I learned the importance of listening to everyones perspectives and having strong collaboration between students and faculty.
What I plan to bring to the role:
1. Weekly anonymous surveys where students can provide feedback on their courses and experiences without the fear of being identified. This initiative will create a safe space for honest opinions and suggestions, allowing me to gather a wide range of insights and concerns. I will include multiple-choice questions to gather statistics on key issues and concerns. By analysing these statistics, I can present clear evidence to faculty and administration, making a stronger case for necessary changes and improvements.
2. Social gatherings after lectures to provide a relaxed environment for students to share their thoughts and concerns about the course material.
3. Implementation of student-led crash courses to help bridge the knowledge gaps many of us face. I recognise that not all of us came in with the same background of subject knowledge, so these sessions will allow us to share our strengths and support each other through the course.
Vote for Hridal: Let’s solve the riddle of our course together!
