Raghav Choudhuri
Hey, I'm Raghav!
I'm doing a three years Mathematics with Statistics for Finance course (quite the mouthful). I play basketball (I think I've made M3), adore reading literature, and like most of you, really like doing mathematics (apart from combinatorics).
I believe I would make a good candidate for your academic representative for two reasons:
The first is I have plenty of prior experience in a similar role. I was on the student council for five years in my school (or college depending on where you live) up till I graduated. That gave me a good sense of the importance of bridging the gap between student body and the institution, along with a strong belief in making sure every voice is not just heard but responded to quickly and effectively.
The second is that I'm actually quite bad at math. Unlike many of you, I have never been a 'natural' at mathematics, and the experience of struggling to understand concepts and ideas lets me understand uniquely the difficulties students might face in a rigorous course like this. Furthermore, it will help me convey the concerns and feedback of all students with the sufficient urgency that they demand.
I thank you considering me as your representative and I hope that you'll let me be your academic voice for this year.
