Lawrence Kei
Hello fellow computing students, my name is Lawrence, and I am applying to be a Year One Academic Representative for the Computing department.
As an academic representative, I will aim to improve our first year academic experience by listening to your collective opinions on what could be changed, and what is already being done well, and relaying this information in an effective and organised manner, so that real change can be made.
Some specific pledges that I have are:
- To push for a better learning experience during lectures, such as improving the pacing of lectures, and asking for further elaboration on topics that may be considered difficult, or if the initial explanation was unclear
- To push for a better timetable so that we have more oppurtunities to attend some talks which may have otherwise been overlapping with tutorials or lunch
- To ensure that any concerns over both unassessed and assessed work are made clear to the lecturers in charge of setting them, and for any questions to have their answers relayed clearly to us
I am a man of the people, and will try my best to let all of your ideas be known and acted upon. I will always be available to listen to your opinion, and am very friendly an open-minded. I'm sure many of you already have much to say about how some aspects of our current academic life could be improved upon, and am looking forward to your support in my campaign.
Best regards,
Lawrence Kei
