First rule of Chemistry Club - vote for Cate! Hello fellow chemists - My name is Caterina Tanucci, and I am a candidate for Year 1 Academic Representative. These first few weeks I have been observing our chemistry community's environment, and I already have tons of visions for improving our journey at Imperial, both academically and non!
To begin with, I would like to use the role of Academic Representative to address common issues such as attendance recording, instructions for the many different online platforms, preparations for lectures/labs, i-Engage recaps, safety courses clarifications, and more.
All my plans on improving organization and communication are in my election campaign - these include shared calendars for reminders, and a website to find useful information for our activities and studies. As former class president and event organizer in many extracurricular settings, I have learned strategies I am also planning on implementing in our uni life.
However, I also want to make sure everyone in the chemistry course gets to know each other - since, you know, we are going to spend (at least) three years together :)
Along with the ChemSoc and the Wellbeing Representative, I intend on making work-life balance a priority - chances to blow off steam can still involve people you study with! In the chemistry circle, I would like to encourage weekend get-togethers (dinners, sports matches, picnics…) or even simple revision sessions to become academic weapons together!
This said, I hope I had enough chemist-rizz to convince all of you! Vote for Cate!
