Being part of the Management 2024 cohort was an honour, enjoying the many challenges and opportunities presented to me throughout. The current management society greatly helped me thrive throughout the year, something which I want to give back to the new cohort. My ideas include:
-More regular lectures and seminars to help the year with the final group process throughout the year, including a specific networking event for final group formations. (Formations take place early. This would reduce anxiety and help students make more informed decisions on group formations).
- More social events throughout the year in conjunction with the management faculty, including a termly event such as management mini golf or bar events, or end of the year event/ball for the management cohort only.
- Expand the alumni network, and introduce events for management alumni.
- Expand the current tutorial series to provide more guidance on all the management courseworks, including tutorials on step-by-step how to perform highly.
- Provide guest lectures and external workshops to advertise management careers, catering to both medical management and JH management careers (e.g. consulting).
- Develop the current mentoring scheme to host more in-person events. Strengthen the notebank to include more notes and past paper questions/sample answers.
My experience as a previous president of Imperial Punjabi Society, and social secretary of Medics Cricket and South Asian Society, where I organized large events and balls such as The Bhangra Showdown, gives me the required organizational, managerial and time management skills to effectively be your vice president of management society!
