Marco Hilmy
As a dedicated biologist, I am excited to present my manifesto for the role of Academic Events Officer this year. Drawing upon my rich experience as the leader of the biology society during my sixth form years, I am committed to organising impactful events that foster academic inspiration and growth among our student body.
Vision: My vision for the role of Academic Events Officer is to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where you can engage deeply with the world of biology beyond the confines of traditional university settings. I aim to give opportunity to inspired people who are curious about biology and empowered to achieve excellence in their academic pursuits.
Key Objectives:
-
Organizing Engaging Academic Events: Drawing from my experience in organizing large-scale events during my time as the leader of the biology society, I aim to curate a diverse range of academic events including seminars, workshops, panel discussions, and guest lectures with scholars and experts in a variety of branches of biology. These events will provide you with invaluable opportunities to broaden knowledge as well as network with professionals in the field.
-
Promoting Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Recognizing the interdisciplinary nature of modern biology, I will collaborate with other societies and departments to organize joint events that explore the intersections between biology and other disciplines such as chemistry, physics and computer science. By fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue and collaboration, we can inspire innovative approaches to addressing complex scientific challenges
