Janushana Sutharsan

I am Janushana, a third-year medical student, and I am standing for position of Publicity Officer for LMAP society. I am interested in being part of LMAP Society again as I believe lifestyle medicine forms an essential part of every speciality therefore important to all fields. Also, this past year being a part of LMAP Scoiety committee has been a great experience.

Currently, I am Publicity Officer for both LMAP Society and Paediatric Society and I am also the Secretary for ICSM Teddy Bear Hospital. This has helped me wear many hats and still navigate my responsibilities effectively and juggling these roles has helped me manage my time well. This has also given me a lot of experience designing posts on Canva and getting creative with my posts.

As LMAP Society’s Publicity Officer, I would like to continue building on current ideas I initiated this year such as the Lifestyle Prescription posts. Initially, we could have committee members contributing and then hopefully we can have the input of medical students as well. Closer to exam season, I would like to post LMAP SBAs questions so students can practise these. Furthermore, I am also involved planning an activity for Great Exhibition Road Festival to empower young children to improve their health by doing physical activity alongside Dr Dimple and another medical student. I would also like to publicise this opportunity on LMAP social media platforms to recruit volunteers so students can practice their health coaching skills on a wider scale.
