Vaishaanth Nagaraj
Hi everyone, I’m Vaishaanth, running for Chair.
I am passionate about combining a medical degree with other fields of technology and entrepreneurship. My experiences, which include analyzing the ethical considerations of AI in healthcare in my research internship at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore, have sparked my interest in operating at the intersection of medicine and innovation.
I have held numerous leadership positions, most recently being Events Lead of MedTech, where I successfully organised the inaugural ‘Introduction to Python and Machine Learning’ workshop. Additionally, I am the Networking Officer of Doctorpreneurs, where I connected with leaders in the MedTech space and invited a few down for our workshops and conference. Furthermore, my time serving national service in the Singapore Armed Forces allowed me to interact with and understand people from different cultural, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds, working harmoniously with them. I’ve also liaised with other army units in the proper handover of logistics, for the smooth running of training. These experiences have honed my leadership skills significantly.
As Chair, I hope to achieve these:
- Organise a conference involving doctors who have successful non-clinical ventures in fields like technology and entrepreneurship
- Improve the outreach of the society, and promote the perception that medics can have a successful venture outside the clinics, while maintaining a strong clinical presence
I am a diligent person, who will give my best in everything I do. As such, I hope you vote me as your next Chair. Thank you!
