Sharon Anand
Hi! My name is Sharon, and I would love to be IC FemTech’s co – chair next year!
I’m currently in my 3rd year of studying Medicine, which has involved multiple rotations in Primary and Secondary Care Services. I have seen firsthand the barriers that women face in accessing timely diagnoses and appropriate treatment for their medical conditions. Whilst I've always been passionate about championing improvements in healthcare for women, these clinical experiences have furthered my enthusiasm for this field.
I joined FemTech Society as a member of Subcommittee, within the Media SubTeam. This role granted me artistic license to experiment with different creative styles. I have been involved in producing promotional and educational material for IC FemTech’s Events this year, which showcase FemTech's core values and the issues the industry is seeking to address. In the Media Team, we tactically solved problems, and worked cohesively with each other, delegating tasks between us, and helping each other as necessary. I believe the skills I acquired from this role and the knowledge I gained from being immersed in IC FemTech Society this year, stands me in good stead for taking on the role of Co-Chair.
I hugely enjoyed being part of FemTech, and meeting so many wonderful women who are trailblazers in this domain. I am so proud of the progress this Society has made in shining a spotlight on the various conditions affecting women and the technological advancements being made to manage these. I’m excited to keep the momentum going!
