Ella Soriano

Hi everyone!

I'm Ella. I'm running for Social Events Coordinator and I am a first year medical student. You may have seen me at FiliSoc events, in which case, hi!. If not, it is a pleasure to meet you ;). My mum is from Bicol and my dad is from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija but I am born and raised in Camden!

My three main policies:

1. Tagalog Time!

I will run tagalog sessions or find a tutor to run them as there are many in the society who wish to learn tagalog - I can help.

2. Feast Festivities!

Everyone asks their families about their regions and come together to cook a regional dish so we can have a massive Feast!

3. Dancing Days

An instructor will come in to teach us folk dances or celebration dances from all across the Philippines.

Why you should vote for me:

1. I have been craving a filipino community for the longest time and understand the desire to be closer with your culture.

2. This society has made me feel welcome and I can only wish to do the same for freshers and newcomers. I want to share the filipino joy around Imperial.

3. I care about bridging the gap between being born and raised outside of the motherland but feeling so out of touch with it.
