Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières: Vice President: Innovations

Hi, I’m Jonathan, and I’m running for Vice President: Innovations. The first FoMSF event that I participated in was the Makeathon. From that event, I learned plenty about how the MSF worked and was inspired to learn more about how to work with them as university students. I have since been more involved in FoMSF events and would like to help organise some of these events in the coming year.

As the President of Pharmacology Society, I have planned events of various natures and scales, ranging from conferences to tutorial programmes to career evenings. As the Young Researchers’ Conference Lead for SORA, I have also led the planning and execution of a full-day conference involving over 40 delegates. Consequently, I have developed a strong understanding of how to effectively work with the Union in planning and executing events. These experiences hence make me well-equipped to take on this position.

As Vice-President of Innovations, I aim to:

Promote innovation by:

  • Organising brainstorming events focused on real world problems and solutions
  • Hosting networking events for students to speak to professionals

Ensure community engagement by:

  • Regularly promoting upcoming events, giving participants ample time to prepare for the events
  • Partnering with other societies and universities to facilitate interaction between participants from diverse backgrounds

Work closely with the committee by:

  • Developing event plans together with the committee
  • Integrating creative ideas into recurring events

Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto and I look forward to working with all of you!
