Keith Poon

Hi everyone!

My name is Keith, a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate who is keen on amplifying awareness of the Finance Society amongst both students and alumni far-reaching in their careers. I would love to maximise the potential of this society and trust that with my background, I have the prior experience to make that happen.

My experience:

• President of Falmouth & Keogh Hall - organised Christmas Party and CNY events for 100+ students, developing organisational, negotiation and budgeting skills
• Council Policy and Strategy Co-Executive Director at the International Council of Malaysian Scholars - managed teams and in constant contact with alumni, developing stakeholder management skills
• Associate at Imperial Consulting Group - conducted effective research to find relevant information as efficiently as possible
• Mentorship experience - mentored numerous students through mock interviews and providing objective feedback

As Head of Alumni Network, I will:

• Create a career mentorship programme, where students are matched to alumni based on their interests to get regular CV checks and 1-to-1 guidance
• Leveraging the alumni network to give unparalleled opportunities to Imperial students, such as company-wide engagement events, office tours and inviting alumni professionals to impart life skills, such as how to handle workplace dilemmas and business etiquette
• Establish a career directory database to better connect students to alumni, ensuring it is updated regularly
• Organise many more networking sessions throughout the year where students get to connect with and learn about different sectors within finance from alumni
