Yun Hui Tan

Hi everyone! My name is Abigail/ Yun Hui and I am running for Marketing Officer of Surgical Society!

Over the past year, I have served as Fresher Representative/ Subcommittee in SurgSoc. I have helped and participated in various SurgSoc events, from Battle of the Specialties, Foundation Skills in Surgery, Trauma Conference to Diversity in Surgery. Truly, I found the speaker talks a great eye-opener, and the workshops were really engaging and provided an invaluable learning opportunity. Indeed, from helping with setting up/ cleaning up during conferences, ushering delegates to creating speaker bios, these are but a glimpse of the efforts needed to ensure the activities are a success. I am therefore invigorated and excited to step up in SurgSoc to continue making these events a success and benefit many students in the coming year.

Hence, I feel that the role of Marketing Officer resonates with me. I am eager to help with wording and designing publicity material for the events and help to publicise the events for a wider audience to hear of such amazing learning opportunities. And of course, I am determined to help out in any way I can, with making SurgSoc events a success!

I was previously Publicity Rep of my high school Mathematics society, where I helped to design and edit the newsletter and publicise society activities to the school. Furthermore, I organised the recruitment drive of my high school choir.
