Lennon Hooper
Hey everyone, my name is Lennon and I am a third year Medic! Having a growing interest in anaesthetics and acute care, I am really keen to get involved with the Acute Care Specialties society. Seeing first hand the work and effort it takes to put together a well run and smooth conference, I am excited for the opportunity to take on such a challenge.
Already having links within anaesthetics from pursuing research and other projects, I am well placed to recruit excellent speakers. As a backstage manager for the recent ICSM Fashion Show, I am well acquainted with on the day pressures and dealing with challenges at short notice. I've also taken lots of lessons from the Surgical Oncology Conference as a subcommittee member this year, and have plenty of ideas I would like to bring with me into this position.
Some of my key ideas:
- Encompassing all of the specialties under acute care, reaching as wide an audience as possible
- Having a combination of exam focused and fun/practical workshops
- Ensuring roles are clearly laid out, allowing for smooth preparation of the conference
- Liaising with other societies to reduce overlap and give as many people the chance to attend as possible!
To conclude, my experience within various societies across the past three years combined with an enthusiasm and dedication to deliver a fantastic conference makes me the ideal candidate for this position. Thanks for reading!
