Hi all,

My name is Angela Song, and I am a second-year biotech student. I am standing to be elected as the Events Officer of Synthetic Biology. As someone driven to foster knowledge sharing, community, and collaboration, I aim to accomplish the following if elected:

• Initiate a new series of events, beyond seminars, aimed at increasing outreach and enhancing our reputation. These may include lab tours, workshops, and educational campaigns.
• Organize more social events, such as mixers, pub quizzes, and movie nights, to create a more vibrant and inclusive community.
• Collaborate with industry organizations and academic institutions to provide opportunities for internships, mentorship, and career development.

I believe that implementing these initiatives will provide you with a community that enables you to pursue your passions and contribute to the advancement in the field of synthetic biology.
