Kang Yang

Hey everyone, I'm Kang Yang, a third-year Design Engineering student at Imperial, and I'm honored to run for DesSoc President.

This year, I am the DesSoc Open House Manager and Alumni Secretary. I've led the Open House team for 5 months preparation for the event, established a LinkedIn alumni group for boosting connections between graduates and current students, initiated the DE Notion Help Sheet, and invited alumnus Rui Huang for a talk, engaging students across departments. I also created a popular YouTube video for future stuents, "A Day in the Life as a Design Engineering Student."

As president, I aim to host more makeathons and competitions, strengthen alumni connections for internships, and conduct workshops in the Ideas Lab. I'm committed to organizing culturally inclusive socials to celebrate every background within DE.

I'm passionate about our community, having grown from a shy freshman to a confident nominee. I believe we all can create miracles. Together, we can innovate and thrive as the coolest community.
