Hello Everyone!
My name is Anoushka Samanta and I would love to be your next Research Representative!
As a current member of SurgSoc as a subcommittee member, I have enjoyed being part of such a wonderful community and have a deep understanding of the values which underly the society. Within SurgSoc, I am participating in research related to the Colorectal Masterclass which took place in October 2023.
I am honoured to be attending Imperial which has given me opportunities to explore my passion for research. I am partaking in multiple papers and have been accepted to present at conferences such as ABS 2023 and was also awarded the Medical Student Bursary. I was also accepted to EBCC in Milan.I am also working on an audit with the bariatric surgery team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Previously I was a Research Assistant at research firm InteXSys, where I collected primary data via interviews with experts and conducted secondary research to collate a publication about the use of generative AI in various sectors which is soon to be published this month. I ran a literature review before the project and then ran content and thematic analyses on my collected data.
Overall, I pride myself in my networking and communication skills which will allow me to find and share opportunities with the rest of my committee. I hope to help other budding researchers like myself develop their research skills and create a friendly and academic environment. Thank you for considering me!
