Surgical: Research Representative

Hello! My name is Srisneha Mettu and I am applying for the Research Officer of Surgical Society. I am extremely passionate about academics and scientific research. I was ranked nationally in the top 1% in India and was eligible for the prestigious INSPIRE scholarship grant by the Govt of India. I have also had the opportunity to complete my own research projects in biology and psychology. These projects consisted of producing large surveys, questionnaires, likert scales, and genetic studies.

I have held multiple roles in societies that have helped me develop the repertoire of skills for National Conference Lead.As SFP lead of SORA, I was responsible for the creation, and management of mock interview events and talks. The role helped me broaden my networking and organisational skills. As innovation coordinator and social secretary of FOMSF, I worked with innovation team in holding inter-uni conferences and creating novel events for the society. I volunteered as a tutor for the JAS Phase 1a series and I have worked closely with NGOs, to deliver education in slums in India. Combining my experiences, I have developed my communication skills to collaborate with different teams, universities and organisations.

I believe my skills, knowledge and dedication will prove very useful in my role as Research Officer. Please feel free to contact me with any queries or ideas. (sm2122@ic.ac.uk). Thank you!
