Anna Chauvet
Hi, I'm Anna. As a high school student, I was inspired by a group of WSET women giving out candy at a stand. Before talking to these women I had never considered studying a STEM-related subject because I didn't know any women who studied those. These women inspired me to apply to Physics and Maths-related subjects and are the reason I am now in my second year of Physics at Imperial. I am extremely grateful to these women and would love to in turn inspire and empower more women to study STEM.
Last year during a Physics department open day I had the opportunity to speak with groups of young girls in their GCSE year and I enjoyed telling them about my degree. I was shocked by the lack of confidence of some of these girls in their maths and science skills, doubting themselves and their ability to do well in STEM subjects at A-level. I believe creating female role models and showing young girls examples of amazing female scientists is key to empowering young women and giving them the confidence to study STEM.
As class president and member of the student council in high school, as well as Maths and Physics tutor, I have acquired excellent communication skills. I am passionate about inspiring women around me.
Your support in voting for me would mean a lot :) I'm looking forward to being a part of this inspiring organization's committee!!
