Isabella Mariani

Hello Triathletes, I’m Isabella! I’m an undergrad studying Economics, Finance and Data Science. I joined Tri earlier this year and have fallen in love with how genuinely friendly everyone is! While I’m still not on Strava, I definitely caught the running bug and somehow even look forward to brutal but highly entertaining core sessions.

I am amazed by the breadth and quality of activities the society offers and am keen to help uphold this financially. This February I worked closely with Sophie, our current chair, and Josh (treasurer Josh) to launch next year’s budget. I got a hands-on understanding of the role’s responsibilities and the overall financial structure of our wonderful society.

As Treasurer, I would aim to proactively communicate and engage with the rest of the committee to ensure that the society’s plans go hand in hand with its budget, while working to secure potential sponsorships and creating new fundraising channels. As the treasurer of an Engineering project at my school, I got comfortable with organising fundraising events to pitch the project’s plans, while negotiating team expenses and liaising with the School Bursary, improving my organisational, analytical and team working competencies.

As a highly organised and motivated person, with strong analytical and multi-tasking skills, I believe I am well suited to the work of a Treasurer, possessing strong knowledge of financial accounting thanks to my degree.
