Karthik Venkatesh

Namaste!

My name is Karthik, and I will be running for joint-VP with fellow subcommittee member and chemical engineer Atharva.

As members of the subcommittee, we had contributed to & participated in a multitude of events, for instance in organising a subcommittee run event – the Ram Aarti. This previous experience allows us to bring forward new changes and initiatives that will elevate our beloved society to record breaking heights.

Under our vice-presidency, we promise to bring forward three new initiatives:
1. Weekly aartis, where we can come together as a community to have an auspicious start to every week, including prasad and snacks, along with an opportunity to socialise with likeminded students.

2. Collaborations with significant Hindu organisations (e.g. NHSF, HSS or Chinmaya Mission) to organise events that can focus the spotlight on modern Hinduism and breaking stereotypes one post at a time ;).

3. Celebrations of a wider range of auspicious Hindu festivals to embrace the diversity of our Dharma. We would celebrate Jayantis and festivals such as Shivaratri, Gita Jayanti, Ram Navami, Pongal, Sankranti, possibly alongside other Imperial Societies.

As a wise man once said, a vote for Karthik and Atharva, is a vote for Dharma itself.
