Chemistry: President

Howdily-doodily!

My name is Anton – I'm a 2nd year chemist. Some of you may know me as a chronic inhabitant of the ChemCafé, a big fan of Elena Gheorghe, or perhaps as this year's 1st Year Representative. Being part of ChemSoc has been a very rewarding experience – matching the ChemFamilies and meeting new people, chatting with fellow chemists (and the occasional friendly visitors!) at the coffee drop-ins and fostering new friendships have all certainly been highlights of my year.

I now look forward to the opportunity to lead the ChemSoc committee. As your president, I will ensure the society continues to play a positive and enriching role in everyone's student experience.

I promise you my enthusiasm and dedication towards organising a wide variety of events – be that film/quiz nights, seminars or careers talks, collaborations with other societies or anything else you'd like ChemSoc to attempt! And of course – I will ensure an unforgettable Christmas dinner!

Having been on the committee, I am well-familiar with the inner workings of society machinery – be that doing risk asessments, following up long email chains or coordinating a team effort for an event.

Most importantly, I shall always be there in the ChemCafé, happy to have a friendly chat and listen to any feedback you may have.

What can I say? Vote for me and I will be as committed to the role as I am to going to Elena Gheorghe's concert.
