Vishal Vijay Kumar

Hi everyone,

I am Vishal, a second-year medical student and the current Secretary of Tabletop Gaming. You may have seen me in the weekly Monday boardgames session where I'm usually being very loud and/or chaotic or if you're playing a TTRPG game on Wednesdays you might have seen me as a totally prepared DM who's definitely not improvising nearly everything as we go. If you haven't met me yet, then please do introduce yourself to me sometime because I'd love to get to know more people.

I attend the weekly boardgames and DnD sessions every week almost religiously because it has become so vital to my mental health. Buried under the stress of academics and other problems in life, these sessions have become a lifeline for me - a few hours every week where I can stop worrying and just enjoy myself amongst like-minded people with similar hobbies. This is why I chose to run for Secretary last year, to help maintain this important part of my life.

In the past year as secretary, I have - with the help of the other committee members - helped make decisions vital to the functioning of the society and also performed many administrative tasks such as taking minutes in committee meetings, room bookings, etc. My time on the committee has made me more aware of the challenges involved in running this society and I would like to use that experience to continue helping the society run efficiently.
