Samuel Tan

Orchestra - Symphony: Chair

Hi everyone,

I'm Sam and you would have known me from your weekly ICSO email/the viola section - and for the freshers, having known me through auditions. I've got a track record of being able to deliver efficiently, and communicate with external stakeholders: this past year, I was the vice chair of Sinfo, delivering amongst other things Weekend Away, and also the Industrial Liaison Officer of EESoc, communicating with a wide range of external stakeholders in the form of companies.I have spoken to Oliver about the demands of the role, and I believe strongly that I have what it takes to lead ICSO in the next year.

I believe that ICSO has much untapped potential as a bridge between arts and sciences, and I would like to establish partnerships between ICSO and other organisations, individuals and alumni in order to capitalise on these unique strengths. While I cannot promise anything, I believe that partnerships could be a possible avenue towards delivering more opportunities for ICSO, while also providing some small revenue towards making our activities, such as dinners and a possible weekend away, less financially prohibitive.

Also, I would place a premium on making sure that ICSO is fun for all, and being aware that this goal comes in different ways, and that people with different motivations play in ICSO - be it a weekend away, a night out (icso slug???) or even a concert/masterclass outing together.

Please do support me :)
