The amount of coursework deadlines Tejas and I have nearly missed because we've been doing something IndianSoc related- volunteering at JB, rehearsing for EMW, or thinking of a good name for the Republic Day Ball-is insane. The more we think about it, though, the reason we say yes to participating in every single IndianSoc event is because there's nobody else we'd rather be with than our giant, warm and crazy IndianSoc family!
Having participated in the various IndianSoc events as a part of the subcommittee I have an appreciation of the level of attention needed to organise them. At the same time, I also understand how important they are to the student experience of all members as some of my best memories are from those events. I understand my role as vice president would be to assist the presidents and other committee members in organising these events to the best of our abilities and to ensure they provide future members with the same memories I made. I have leadership experience through my high school BioChemistry Society where I held the role of Head of Genetics for 2 years. This allowed me to develop the organisation and management skills necessary for this role.
Apart from taking existing events to the next level, we promise that we'll put in place newer events. A formal dinner at Dishoom, bollywood dance-off nights with UCL and QM or an antakshari night, anything you wish for is our command.
We hope to be your VPs soon!
