Hello friends,

I am standing to be your Men's Captain for the 2024/25 season. I am not going to make promises of revolutionary change as these are unrealistic in the time-frame of a year and, to a certain degree, large changes don't need to be made. We can however optimise what we achieve within the current limits, and produce results we're proud of.

Things I want to do as Men's Captain:

• Goal focus - I want to chat to every member about what they want to accomplish in the upcoming season (ergo scores, the boat they want to race in, medals want to win, strength gains, recreational rowing...) More importantly want to talk about how we can achieve these targets. Also discuss how we can balance the program with busy academic and personal lives.
• Better selection process - I want to push for a more transparent selection process. I would advocate for a seat-racing weekend before Christmas with results published, and to use this alongside ergo scores and telem for Head season selection. This will hopefully prevent the situation we had a BUCS.
• Continue supportive atmosphere - I want to continue the current atmosphere within the squad, and use it to all get faster and produce the best results.
• Chill socials - more activities, like brunch or cinema, to help unwind and hangout. Chance to get out of Putney in quieter parts of term.
