Biochemistry (UG): Departmental Wellbeing Representative

Hi everyone! As a Y2 representative, I had the privilege of voicing your suggestions and concerns in the student-staff committee meetings. Although we’ve witnessed positive changes such as the introduction of breaks in lectures, I am wholeheartedly committed to achieving so much more.

Enhance Communication and Inclusivity: As an approachable and compassionate individual, I am here to listen to any concerns you may have. I believe transparency is key. Implementing an online platform for anonymous feedback can help facilitate a more direct and consistent line of communication between the students and the department, ensuring your voices resonate.

Enrichment Fund: I plan to introduce a Wellbeing Enrichment Fund to financially support student-led initiatives. This will not only foster a deeper sense of community but will also initiate a mentorship program connecting students, staff, and alumni – a network that extends beyond the established Biochemistry families.

Wellbeing Wednesdays: In collaboration with the Biochemistry Society, this initiative will offer diverse activities such as pottery painting and yoga sessions. Accompanied by a weekly newsletter, I intend to raise welfare awareness with engaging challenges, incentives, and tips.

Sustainable Initiatives: Acknowledging the inherent link between well-being and the environment, I hope to incorporate green spaces into our academic environment, enhancing common rooms and study areas. Collaboration with the department will facilitate the implementation of eco-conscious practices aligning with a collective commitment to a more sustainable learning experience.

With your support, I will advocate for your concerns. Your Voice, Your Well-being – Let’s thrive together in Biochemistry!
