RCSU: Vice President (Welfare & Wellbeing)

In the face of increasing student community challenges, leadership must comprehend these issues and commit to taking the adequate steps needed for improvement. My name is Arun, and as the current Department Wellbeing Rep for Physics, I have firsthand experience in addressing student wellbeing at a departmental level. Now, I aim to broaden my impact by running for RCSU Vice President for Welfare and Wellbeing.

As Vice President, I promise to create transparency. Through advocating for student mitigation during the MAB as Wellbeing Dep Rep, I promoted the creation of letters for students with missing marks, aiding their Master's and job applications. As RCSU Vice President, I will advocate a faculty-wide framework to address future academic disruptions, protecting students' futures.

I will also introduce more financial support initiatives, such as allowing for more students with bursaries to receive free tickets to RCSU events. In addition, I will ensure RCSU hardship funds are accessible and distributed promptly to those in need.

Recognising the importance of mental health, I will organise more events that not only encourage socialising across years and departments but also focus on inclusivity and representation. In addition, by building on the annual RCSU Welfare Week, I plan to introduce more welfare-centric events throughout the year.

I promise to listen to your feedback, advocate for your needs, and support you throughout your time at Imperial. Vote for me, Arun, as your Vice President for Welfare and Wellbeing, and let’s work towards a better RSCU for our students!
