David Wu
Hi, I am David, a second-year mathematician. Driven by my passion for the study and the teaching of mathematics, I am committed to supporting the welfare and academic progress of all students in our department. If elected, I will strive to
- Represent the interests of our cohort from an academic perspective. I will address any concerns or feedback about the course and negotiate with the department effectively and professionally.
- Serve as the point of contact between faculty and cohort. I will gather feedback from the students and liaise them with the faculty to facilitate positive changes for the department.
As the current External Vice for the Imperial College Mathematics Society (MathSoc), I am responsible for building a productive relationship with our 10+ industry-leading sponsors through prompt and professional communication. Moreover, I was handling the negotiation and administrative process for contracts and organising career events such as the MathSoc Career Fair. The role has honed my communication and organisational skills, which are critical for this position as well.
I believe that my experience at MathSoc, passion for the role, and excellent communication skills make me the ideal candidate for the Departmental Academic Reps. I promise to work hard, be responsive, and deliver great results for our department. Together, let's create a stimulating and inclusive academic environment where everyone can succeed.
